Missing Data

Missing data are a reality in almost every data-set. Regardless of how data are collected, some amount of missing values always occurs. Easy ad-hoc solutions such as removing the variables and units that contain missing data or simply imputing some average values are not reliable. Statistical science has advanced in recent decades and offers more reliable methods to deal with missing data, such as maximum likelihood using the EM algorithm and multiple imputation methods.

The introductory one-day workshop introduces different ways to deal with missing data, presents pros and cons of different techniques and takes you through an example of missing data, showing you how to think about and how to solve it, step by step. The introductory one-day workshop is suitable for those who are involved in data analysis tasks on a daily basis, and also for those who would like to learn more about how to deal with missing data problems.

More advanced levels of workshops are suitable for researchers who intend to use the knowledge in data analysis projects aimed at scientific publications, or to support policy makers. World-renowned scientists are involved in delivering the workshop material.
